Why is there so much hair loss during removal?
What you are seeing is not hair loss – it is normal shedding that built up over months. We naturally lose 50-100 hairs a day, but with extensions those shed hairs stay trapped at the bond. When we remove them, all those months of normal shedding come out at once. It looks alarming but is completely normal.
How long does extensions removal take?
Most removals at our Arlington salon take 1-2 hours, depending on how many extensions you have and the method used. We never rush the process, because gentle, patient removal is what protects your natural hair. The visit includes detangling, clarifying, and deep conditioning afterward.
Can I get new extensions installed the same day as removal?
We generally recommend waiting 1-2 weeks between removal and reinstallation to let your scalp rest and assess your natural hair. For well-maintained extensions with healthy hair, same-day reinstallation may be possible. We evaluate during removal and give you honest guidance.
What should I do after extensions removal?
Your hair may feel thin or different after months with extensions – that is normal and temporary. We recommend gentle care for the first week: no tight styles, minimal heat, extra conditioning. A trim can clean up unevenness, and many Arlington clients book a scalp treatment to refresh after months of extensions.
