Full Face Wax Questions
Is full face wax painful?
There is brief discomfort when the wax is removed, but it lasts seconds per area. We use premium hard wax that grips hair rather than skin, which lowers sensitivity a lot. The lip is most sensitive, but even that is manageable. Most clients find it easier than they expected.
Can I get a full face wax if I use retinol?
If you use retinoids, stop applying them on your face 3-5 days before your appointment. Retinol thins the skin and raises sensitivity to waxing. If you are on prescription-strength tretinoin, tell us, and we may suggest a different method for some areas.
Will waxing make my facial hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. This is one of the most common myths about waxing. Hair can look slightly blunt as it first regrows because waxing removes it from the root, but it is not actually thicker or darker. Over time, consistent waxing often leads to finer, sparser regrowth.
How long does a full face wax take?
Most full face wax appointments take 25-35 minutes, and that includes thorough brow shaping, not just a quick cleanup. It is far more efficient than booking the services separately, and you leave with everything groomed in one visit.
How often should I get a full face wax?
Every 3-4 weeks works for most women. That allows enough regrowth for an effective wax while keeping your face smooth and polished. Many of our Arlington clients book theirs alongside a regular hair appointment in the same visit.
What’s the difference between full face wax and dermaplaning?
Full face wax removes hair from the root, so results last 3-4 weeks. Dermaplaning uses a blade to remove peach fuzz and dead skin from the surface, so it is also a skincare treatment. Some women alternate; we help you choose what is best for your skin and goals.
