Is lip waxing painful?
The upper lip is one of the more sensitive areas, but the discomfort is very brief, a second or two as the wax is removed. We use premium hard wax that grips hair rather than skin, which lowers sensitivity a lot. Most clients find it very tolerable.
Will waxing cause breakouts or irritation?
Some redness right after waxing is normal and usually fades within an hour or two. We apply a soothing serum after every wax. To lower any chance of breakouts, avoid touching the area and skip heavy makeup for a few hours. Tell us if your skin is sensitive.
Can I wax if I’m using anti-aging skincare?
If you use retinoids, AHAs, or BHAs, stop applying them around the lip and chin 3-5 days before your appointment. These increase sensitivity and can cause irritation during waxing. For prescription-strength retinoids, mention it when you book so we can advise.
How long do lip and chin wax results last?
Most women enjoy smooth results for 3-4 weeks before regrowth shows. Because waxing removes hair from the root, you stay hair-free far longer than with shaving or creams. Over time, many clients find their hair grows back finer and sparser.
